CURRENT APPLICATIONS

Catholic Church <3
ROMANESQUE CHURCH - arches, domes, classical forms

layouts used in some cathedrals

Green architecture can be used as current applications. Islamic designs and plans always took advantage of making space with natural cooling and other natural features such as fountains. Sustainable buildings and plans use several Islamic features.

HENRI MATISSE!

Matisse was heavily influenced by islamic art. You can see the geometric patterns that were inspired, as well as the colors and patterns in these painting examples.

CONCLUSION
The emphasis on faith, space, and design in both Islamic and Romanesque architecture helped influence civilization. Typically found in churches and cathedrals, the Romanesque style is characterized by rounded arches, hefty stone walls, and carved embellishments that draw inspiration from Byzantine and Roman traditions. Islamic architecture has a strong emphasis on harmony, geometric ornamentation, and the use of natural features like cooling systems, water features, and courtyards. All are related to contemporary sustainable design. Both styles seek to create hallowed areas that encourage community, and their impact can still be seen in modern architecture, art, and design.
